Many of your imaginative explanations for why the number 42 has been used in a conspicuously diverse choice of areas, e.g. from science to religion and astronomy to gaming – to naming but a few.

By the way, the article also states 42 „things“ that evolve around the number „magical“ 42 to fuel your fascination, including not only some facts which we spoke about e.g. „There are 42 US gallons in a barrel of oil.“ – in the UK 1 gallon (gal) converts to 4.536 litres (l), whereas in the US 1 gal converts to 3.785 liters (l) (Go figure!- And tell us guys and gals all about it at the next After Work Stammtisch on August 4th or 4th August?) – but additionally some other facts such as „Queen Victoria’s husband Prince Albert died aged 42; they had 42 grandchildren and their great-grandson, Edward VIII, abdicated at the age of 42.“
